GMR Infra, HDIL, Thermax & V-Guard Ind Q4 results

Construction company GMR Infrastructure has reported fourth-quarter profit more than doubled, boosted by investment gains. Net profit rose to Rs 50 crore in the three months ended March 31, 2008 from Rs 21.85 crore a year earlier, the company said.

Sales rose 43 per cent to Rs 885 crore. Profit before tax and interest from investments in MFs and other plans surged to Rs 56.57 crore in the fourth quarter from Rs 2.97 crore, it said.

HDIL FY08 net jumps two-fold

Housing Development & Infrastructure posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 1,409.84 crore for the year ended March 2008, a nearly two-fold rise compared with Rs 548 crore last year. Total revenue rose to Rs 2,433.29 crore in 2007-08. For the quarter ended March 2008, it posted a net profit of Rs 708.25 crore and revenues of Rs 989.49 crore.

Thermax FY08 net profit rises 50%

Thermax Industries said it expects sales to be on the lower side in the financial year ended March 2008 on the back of a global slowdown in demand.

"The company expects lower growth during 2008-09. Our orderbook reflects the same," the company said. Orders fell to Rs 2,637 crore in the year ended March 2008, from Rs 3,100 crore last year. The company's fourth quarter profit rose 22 per cent to Rs 83 crore (Rs 61 crore). For the year ended March 31, the firm recorded a consolidated net profit of Rs 290.72 crore, a 50 per cent growth.

V-Guard Ind FY08 net jumps 98%

V-Guard Industries, electronic and electrical equipment manufacturer, has posted a robust growth in net profit of 97.87 per cent during the financial year ended March 31, 2008.

The company has registered a net profit of Rs 37.42 crore during the financial year as compared to Rs 18.23 crore in the previous year. The profit before tax is Rs 52.43 crore as against Rs 26.49 crore.
