Goldman cuts estimates: Bharti, Idea shares fall

Shares of Bharti Airtel and Ideal Cellular declined in an otherwise firm market on Friday, after Goldman Sachs cut its earnings estimates for both the companies.

At close, Bharti shares, the biggest loser in the 30-stock Sensex, were down 3.34 per cent at Rs 355 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). The stock fell 5.9 per cent during the day's trade. Idea Cellular stock fell 4.4 per cent to close at Rs 90. The Sensex gained 2.79 per cent to close at 16,232. Foreign brokerage Goldman Sachs lowered its estimates for both Bharti Airtel and Idea's earnings for the July-September quarter.
