GSPL Q4 net up 25%

Says financial year ended March 2013, company's standalone net profit stood at Rs 538 cr as compared to Rs 522 cr in fiscal 2011-12

State-run gas transmission player, Gujarat State Petronet Ltd has registered standalone net profit of Rs 161.5 crore for the quarter ended March 2013, showing a growth of 25 per cent from Rs 129 crore reported in the same period previous year.

The company's total standalone income from operations stood at Rs 360 crore as against Rs 279 crore in the same quarter last year, up by 29 per cent. In a statement filed with the stock exchanges on Thursday, GSPL informed that for the financial year ended March 2013, company's standalone net profit stood at Rs 538 crore as compared to Rs 522 crore in fiscal 2011-12. Total Income has increased from Rs 1175 crore for in 2011-12 to Rs 1239 crore in fiscal 2013.

On consolidated basis, GSPL posted a net profit of Rs 538 crore for the year ended March 31, 2013 as compared to Rs 545 crore in 2011-12. Total income has increased from Rs 1172 crore for the year ended March 2012 to Rs 1239 crore for the year ended March 2013, the company stated in a filing after the meeting of its board of directors today. The board has also recommended the dividend of Re 1 per share (or 10 per cent) of Rs 10 each for the financial year 2012-13.

Notably, GSPL's revenues from gas transmission segment grew at a sluggish pace of around 4 per cent from Rs 1084 crore in 2011-12 to Rs 1131 crore in fiscal 2013.

GSPL shares closed negative on Thursday at Rs 57.85, down by 1 per cent from its previous close on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
