Direct to Home (DTH) major Tata Sky today said it will appoint Harit Nagpal as the managing director of the company, with effect from August this year.
Nagpal succeeds the current MD Vikram Kaushik, who will retire on December 31, 2010. "Kaushik has led the company since its inception in 2004 and under his leadership, Tata Sky has emerged as the leading DTH brand in the country," Tata Sky said in a statement.
Kaushik will be succeeded by Nagpal, who is currently the Group Marketing Director, Vodafone Plc Nagpal will join the company in August 2010, in order to facilitate a smooth transition at Tata Sky.
Nagpal has 25 years of work experience of which, nine years were spent with Vodafone, the statement said. Tata Sky is one of the seven players in the DTH market in India and has over 5 million subscribers in the country.
