HOV Q1 net dips 68% at Rs 1.33 cr

BPO firm HOV Services today announced a consolidated net profit of Rs 1.33 crore for the first quarter ended June 30 for the current fiscal, down 67.90 per cent against the corresponding period a year ago.

The company registered a net profit of Rs 4.14 crore in Q1 of fiscal 2008, HOV Services said in a filing with the BSE. The firm’s total income also declined to Rs 210.88 crore in the June quarter, from Rs 214.42 crore for the same quarter in the previous fiscal.

The loss in total income and net profit is because of the divestiture of tax processing services in the third quarter of FY’08, the filing said.

Torrent Power Q1 net up 49% at Rs 53.84 cr

Torrent Power, part of the USD one billion Torrent Group, today announced a net profit of Rs 53.84 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, a 49.59 per cent growth over the corresponding period a year ago.

The company had a net profit of Rs 35.99 crore in the same quarter last year, Torrent Power said in a filing with Bombay Stock Exchange.

Maharashtra Seamless Q1 net up 3.8%

Pipe manufacturer Maharashtra Seamless today announced a net profit Rs 60.30 crore for the quarter ended June 30, a 3.78 per cent growth over the corresponding quarter last year.

The company had a net profit of Rs 58.10 crore in the first quarter of FY’08, Maharashtra Seamless said in a filing with BSE. Total income of the company rose to Rs 363.93 crore in the April-June quarter from Rs 362.82 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago.
