Aditya Birla Group company Idea Cellular today said its consolidated net profit stood at Rs 170 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2009.
The company had a net profit of Rs 219 crore in the quarter ended December 2008, Idea Cellular said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
"Figures for the current period are not comparable with that of the previous period due to the de-merger of passive infrastructure to Idea Cellular Tower Infrastructure," the company said.
Total income stood at Rs 3,149.4 crore for the December quarter, while it had a total income of Rs 2,731 crore in the same period last year.
On standalone basis, the company posted a net profit of Rs 218 crore for the October-December quarter. It had a net profit of Rs 284 crore in the same quarter corresponding fiscal.
Shares of Idea Cellular today closed at Rs 57.60 on the BSE, down 1.03 per cent from its previous close.
