As the issue of merger of Spice Communications (Spice) with Idea Cellular is still under subjudice, the company seeks extension of time to announce its financial numbers for the quarter and financial year ended March 31, 2011.
"Idea Cellular has informed that under the circumstances, practical difficulties have arisen for the company so far as adoption and publication of financial results is concerned," Idea Cellular said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Earlier, the company has received an ex-parte stay from the High Court of Delhi on its order sanctioning the merger of Spice with the company.
The company has asked extension from May 15, 2011 to June 30, 2011 for announcement of quarterly and annual financial results for period ended March 31, 2011.
The matter is currently pending before the High Court for hearing, the release added.
Shares of Idea Cellular today closed at Rs 68.05 on the BSE, down 0.58% from the previous close.
