Nasdaq-listed IT services company iGate has secured a five-year contract valued around $80 million from Orange Communications SA (Orange Switzerland) to transform the telecom services provider’s IT infrastructure and rationalise its vendor landscape.

As a part of the contract, iGate will take responsibility for transforming and managing all enterprise systems, including ERP, business intelligence, infrastructure and data network and telephony services. The company would also provide infrastructure as a service for Orange Switzerland and specific partners apart from managing a multilingual service desk to monitor all vendor performance metrics.

“iGate stood out as the best choice to help us achieve our aim of delivering exceptional service to our customers with improved efficiency. Beyond demonstrating their depth and IP-led capability, the company has showed that they understood our business requirements and responded with flexibility and innovation,” said Johan Hall, Chief Technology Officer of Orange Switzerland.

The data centre is operated through Equinix in Zurich where iGate also has contracts with other Swiss companies from the finance and insurance sectors.

Orange Communications SA is a wholly owned subsidiary of Matterhorn Mobile SA, a company indirectly majority-owned by funds advised by Apax Partners LLP. The company has 939 employees, and is present with 94 Orange centers and with more than 2700 outlets across Switzerland.
