The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-H), in collaboration with Bangalore-headquartered NXP Semiconductors India, has set up NXP Semiconductors lab, an embedded systems laboratory, at its campus here.
The lab, part of its centre for VLSI design and embedded system technologies, has been set up with a mission to turn into a leading research platform, IIIT-H director Rajeev Sangal said.
The lab would help students and faculty to undertake research in cutting edge technologies, test new ideas and develop high-end embedded systems products.
Neeraj Paliwal, vice-president, NXP, said, NXP India was planning to set up 20 labs across India this year as part of the NXP Anubhav, an industry-academia initiative, which was launched in January this year for setting up advanced technology labs at top engineering institutes in India.
