India's second largest IT services company Infosys, on Monday said it plans to add approximately 200 jobs in the next fiscal year at its Cumberland location in the US and expects an additional expansion in the metro Atlanta area over the next couple of years.

The Bangalore-based company has identified Atlanta as a strategic hub for growth in the US. The infrastructure and talent available in Atlanta attracted Infosys BPO  to set up an onshore operation centre to deliver high-end business process services to its North American clients, it said.

Gautam Thakkar, Vice-President and Unit head-Enterprise Services, Infosys BPO, said, “It is critical for Infosys to create global hubs of talent and the southeast is a key US region with a number of our important clients.”

The company is also working with local universities and technical colleges to recruit local talent and also to help improve the education system to equip students with more market-relevant curriculum. In addition to Atlanta, Infosys BPO also has a delivery center in Des Moines, Iowa part of the 19 Infosys locations throughout the United States.
