Ahmedabad-based InterVein Laboratories and D2L Pharma Research Solutions have signed a memorandum of understanding for providing solutions to the clinical research industry.

InterVein, a central laboratory, which commenced operations in 2006, has focused on the business model of catering to clinical trial samples only, whereas D2L Pharma is engaged in site management and consulting services.

InterVein and D2L-SMO will provide services in clinical investigations and site management. Company officials said the partnership would enable them to jointly provide a fully integrated platform for pharmaceutical companies and clinical research organisations (CROs) from site management solutions to clinical lab testing.

"The collaboration will bring in one-stop solutions to the clients looking for a central lab with focus exclusively on clinical trials networked with trial sites with speedy and efficient sample collection system, handling of logistics and reporting near to real time," said Devina Bhardwaj, CEO, InterVein Laboratories.

K Sashi Kiran, founder and managing director, D2L Pharma Research Solutions, said "The cumulative expertise and experience from both the companies would guarantee better and efficient service to the clients who are looking for GCP-compliant trial sites attached to a dedicated central lab for clinical trials, and to the clinical research industry as a whole."
