Jindal Steel net dips 3% to Rs 957 cr

Jindal Steel & Power reported a decline of 3.19 per cent in its consolidated net profit at Rs 956.97 crore for the quarter ended June compared with Rs 988.47 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The company's revenues for the period rose 8.63 per cent to Rs 2,998.24 crore from Rs 2,760.08 crore last year.

The earning per share, too, declined to Rs 10.11 from Rs 63.89.

The raw material costs went up to Rs 723.23 crore from Rs 473.75 crore last year, up 52.66 per cent.

On the Bombay Stock Exchange, the company's shares closed weak at Rs 630.10, down 1.26 per cent.
