JSPL provides generator sets in Phailin-hit Ganjam

Power generator sets being used for providing emergency service, especially to ensure water supply to people of Chhatrapur, Ganjam

Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL) has provided high power generator sets to the district administration of Ganjam, the worst-affected district of Odisha in cyclone Phailin, helping the state government to restore normalcy.

These power generator sets are being used for providing emergency service, especially to ensure water supply to people of Chhatrapur and Ganjam, a company release said.

The steelmaker sent a power generator set of 200 KVA to Chhatrapur on October 15, after a request from the government.

Two 125 KVA power generator sets were also dispatched to support the district administration in relief and rescue operations.

"As a responsible corporate in Odisha, we re-affirm our commitment to extend support to the government for the relief and rescue operations in whichever manner it is possible," said Subrat Ratho, MD (Jindal Synfuel Ltd) and Head of JSPL, Odisha Operations.
