Kalaari adds investors, partners to team

Bala Srinivasa, Former Senior MD at Copal Amba, joins the company as Partner

A few months after Ratan Tata joined Kalaari's ranks, the early-stage fund brought on board Ravi Venkatesan (Chairman at Bank of Baroda, among others) and Ram Gupta (Chairman and CEO at Castiron Systems and Senior CP at WebMD among others).

Bala Srinivasa, Former Senior MD at Copal Amba, also joined the company as Partner.

"I am happy to welcome these industry veterans to Kalaari. We are confident that bringing together high quality and multi-faceted expertise to our advisory and investment teams will give us an edge in our endeavor to grow the entrepreneurial ecosystem in India," said Vani Kola, MD, Kalaari Capital.

Kalaari's currently has $650 million under management and it is said that the addition of the three will help mentor new start-ups.

"I find it extraordinarily energizing to work with outstanding young entrepreneurs and help accelerate their transformation," said Venkatesan. Kalaari has recently invested in Holachef, YourStory, Doormint, Industrybuying, and Super.
