Kalpataru Power Transmission today reported a fall of 54 per cent in its net profit for the fourth quarter ended March 31 to Rs 23.17 crore.
The company had a net profit of Rs 50.37 crore during the January-March quarter a year earlier, Kalpataru Power said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Total income of the company also fell to Rs 558.44 crore during Q4 of FY09 from Rs 633.96 crore of the corresponding period a year ago.
The company has declared a dividend of Rs 7.50 per share for the financial year 2008-09, it said.
For the financial year ended March 31, 2009, the power transmission firm posted a net profit of Rs 94.41 crore, down 37 per cent compared to 149.95 crore of FY08.
However, total income of the company rose to Rs 1,884.92 crore during 2008-09 fiscal from Rs 1,742.47 crore of FY08.
Shares of Kalpataru Power Transmission surged nearly 8 per cent and were trading at Rs 778.05 in the late afternoon trade on the BSE.
