Engineering and construction company Larsen and Toubro has bagged a Rs 1,610 crore order from Visa Power, a Visa Steel and Power Group Company, for its 2x600 MW power plant being set up in Chhattisgarh.
"Larsen and Toubro has won the project through international competitive bidding process and it includes the execution of Balance of Plant (BOP) package for Visa Power Ltd for their 2x600 MW power plant, which is being set up in Raigarh, Chattisgarh," L&T said in a statement here.
Under the BOP contract, L&T would design, engineer, supply, erect and complete Balance of Plant.
The scope of work includes civil, structural and architectural works, coal and ash handling plants, induced draft cooling towers among others.
The project would be commissioned within 29-32 months, it said.
Besides this project, Larsen and Toubro recently bagged a project worth Rs 6,500 crore from Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd (JPVL) for setting up of 3x660 MW supercritical boiler-steam turbine generator.
