Leading health care organisations, doctors along with senior representatives from different ministries - health, finance and IT and communications - are expected to deliberate on issues such as improving infrastructure and bringing in more innovation during a meeting next week.

The two-day conference titled 'Sustainable Quality Health care' will be the theme for Ficci HEAL 2013, which is an annual event of the industry chamber, attended by key stakeholders, according to a statement.

The conference, beginning on September 2, will bring together policymakers and heads of leading health care organisations to share their opinions and best practices. It will aim at generating "realistic recommendations" on the way forward, it said.

The event will highlight the issues that have a great significance in quality and cost of delivery including hospital planning, infrastructure, operations and innovation in technology and practice, it said.

Ficci Health Services Committee Chairperson Sangita Reddy, who is also the Executive Director (Operations) of Apollo Hospitals Group, said, "A combination of improvement in rural infrastructure, innovation and technology will improve the access to health care."

The need of the hour is to create an environment where public and private ventures can work towards providing quality health care to people, she added.

Ficci Health Services Committee Rajen Padukone Co-chair said there is also a need for policies that will promote meaningful collaboration between private and public sector.
