Hyderabad-based hardware start-up RDP Workstations Private Limited on Wednesday announced the availability of ultra slim laptop RDP ThinBook across India for a price of Rs 10,000. Developed in strategic association with ecosystem players Microsoft and Intel, the new device aims to address the needs of entry-level consumers looking for an affordable yet robust device, the company said.

The 14.1 inch device comes packed with the Intel Atom x5-Z8300 Processor and runs on Windows 10 software, helping users be more productive with the intuitive operating system, according to the company.

"India is at the cusp of a digital revolution and there is a huge demand for affordable yet trustworthy computing devices to fuel this revolution further. At RDP, we believe that a lower price point at the cost of performance will not be accepted by the end consumers. We are proud to make the ThinBook available to consumers across India and are confident that the consumers will appreciate the overall package that has been designed to deliver sturdy performance and good looks all under Rs 9,999," Vikram Redlapalli, founder and managing director of RDP Workstations Private Limited said.

According to Microsoft India country general manager Priyadarshi Mohapatra, they have been making strategic investments towards expanding their OEM partner ecosystem to augment availability of affordable devices across price points and form factors and ThinBook was a part of this ongoing strategy.

Anand Ramamoorthy, director, consumption sales, Intel South Asia, said: "Intel India has been committed to collaborating with local device manufacturers to deliver amazing personal computing experience in the country. This is a part of our ongoing effort to digitise India, one person at a time. The new RDP ThinBook, offered at an attractive price point and available nationwide, will contribute to this story of digitising the country."
