Mahindra & Mahindra will begin work on its Rs 250-crore greenfield tractor plant at Zaheerabad, 100 km from here, on March 23, according to J Geeta Reddy, minister for heavy industries.
Company vice president (operations) VS Venkatraman said the new facility would have a capacity of 80,000 units a year and would be ready in 16 months, but declined to give further details.
The company already has a commercial vehicle manufacturing plant at the same location.
