McAfee today appointed Ari Jaaksi as senior vice president and general manager - mobile engineering and operations division.

Jaaksi will focus on the alignment of McAfee’s mobile go-to-market strategies and developing and delivering mobile security products for the company’s consumer and enterprise users.

“Mobile security is an integral part of our business,” said Todd Gebhart, co-president, McAfee. “Jaaksi's experience in developing mobile and wireless software and hardware products for large, high-tech companies will prove to be a valuable asset as we continue to strengthen our mobile product portfolio.”

He will report directly to Gebhart and will be based in Santa Clara, California.

Prior to this, Jaaksi was the senior vice president of HP’s WebOS Software and Services. He was responsible for the software product management, user experience, client and cloud software development, and 24/7 operation related to the WebOS phones and tablets.

Before that, Jaaksi worked with Nokia for twelve years at many senior positions. There he led the team responsible for software, hardware, user experience and developer activities for Nokia’s high end mobile phones.

Jaaksi holds a PhD from Tampere University of Technology in Finland, where he also served as a professor of computer science.

McAfee is a wholly owned subsidiary of Intel Corporation. The company delivers security solutions and services for systems, networks, and mobile devices.
