Next Gen to steer Sundaram Clayton

Sudarshan Venu and sister Lakshmi Venu appointed as Joint Managing Directors of TVS Motor's holding company

A day after Sudarshan Venu was appointed as joint managing director of TVS Motor Company, Sundaram Clayton the holding company of TVS Motor, today appointed Sudarshan and his sister Lakshmi Venu as Joint Managing Directors.
 
Considering the increasing business of the company and its subsidiaries the decisions were taken and both of them will be functioning under the advice and guidance of their father Venu Srinivasan, chairman and managing director of TVS Motor and Sundaram Clayton. These appointments are effective from September 11, 2014, said the company.
 
Lakshmi Venu, who is the daughter-in-law of Infosys Narayan Murthy, has been redesignated as Sundaram Clayton's Joint Managing Director. she is currently the Director-Strategy in the rank of Managing Director.

 

Sudarshan Venu is currently a non-executive director of the company and has been promoted as the Joint Managing Director.
 
In her current position Lakshmi Venu was responsible for exploring business opportunities and expansion, in domestic and international market.
 
She underwent her initial training for three years as a management trainee at Sundaram Auto Components Ltd, a subsidiary of Sundaram Clayton, in 2003.  Lakshmi is a graduate from Yale University, and holds a doctorate in engineering management from the University of Warwick.
