Nikon India to expand its sales network

Opens new 'Coolpix zone' store in Nashik

With an aim to strengthen its sales network base across the country, Nikon India, the 100 per cent subsidiary of Nikon Corporation, has plans to open 8 new zone stores and add another new 500 retail points to its sales network in the next FY 2011-12.

The company recently opened its new branded store 'Coolpix Zone' in Nashik city. Presently, the company has a total of 72 zone stores under the brand name 'Coolpix zone' and 'D-SLR zone.'

These zone stores are located in select cities in the country, including, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Coimbatore, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Allahabad, Bhubaneshwar, Visakhapatnam, Chandigarh and Kochi.

Nikon India sells its products through its own 72 zone stores and through 2,000 retail points across the country. With an aim to increase its sales, the company is planning to strengthen its sales network base in the country.

"We are planning to increase its zone stores from the present 72 stores to 80 zone stores in the next FY 2011-12. Presently, we are also planning to add another 500 new retail points on our sales network by March 2012. With this new addition, the company's network of retail points will reach 2,500," the company sources told Business Standard.

The company distributes markets and services the complete range of Nikon imaging products, including Nikon D-SLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) as well as compact cameras, the Nikon Coolpix and a range of Nikon lenses, and service and repair of products.
