Nxtra Data appoints Neil Pollock as CEO

Pollock will be responsible for developing Nxtra's capacity and capability

Bharti Airtel's wholly owned subsidiary Nxtra Data Limited today appointed Neil Pollock as its CEO.

In his new role, Pollock will be responsible for developing Nxtra's capacity and capability across geographies in order to build scale and develop products to meet customer requirements, the company said in a statement.

Nxtra Data will provide managed services and data centre services including managed back-up, security, virtual compute and infrastructure as-a-service (IaaS) cloud to small and large enterprises and government sector.

The shareholders of Bharti Airtel had recently approved the transfer of data centre and managed services business to Nxtra Data for about Rs 177 crore.

The company owns seven operational data centres across the country. Out of them, two are in Noida and one each in Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, Bhubaneswar and Mumbai.

Pollock has over 20 years of industry experience and his recent assignment at Bharti Airtel was as Head - Integrated Managed Services.

Prior to that, Neil was Head of strategy and productivity at Singtel Optus (Australia) and was responsible for business that included integrated communication services for enterprise, government and wholesale customers.
