US-based Russian Spirit enters Pune market

Company targets sales of 25,000 cases in first year and 170,000 in second year of operations

US-based vodka maker Russian Spirit Inc has recently introduced its two brands Russian Spirit and Kruto in Pune. It is distributed by Russian Spirit Inc through Mumbai-based import company MIR spirits that specialises in the import of quality Russian vodkas.

“The premium vodka market in India, growing at over 25 per cent and dominated by imported brands like Absolut, Finlandia and Grey Goose. Russian Spirit  offers the pure pleasure of drinking vodka, it ensures  the best option for most subtle cocktail infusions. We are targeting sales of over 25,000 cases in the first year and 170,000 cases in the second year of operations. After launching in Mumbai,Pune and Goa,  we will move to Bangalore followed by Delhi. Rajasthan, Haryana and Chandigarh,” said, Ravichandran Ramanujan, marketing manager, MIR Spirits.

Russian Spirit has a price tag of Rs 3,500 and Kruto which is priced at Rs 1,850 in Mumbai.

According to Ramanujan, Russian Spirit is 15 times distilled with pure gold filtration while Kruto is made from the finest Ukrainian wheat and 9 times distilled for smooth finish.

Russian Spirit Inc is owned by Uzbekistan Jew Roman Tallis. It is marketed by Mahesh Chauhan of Salt Brand Solutions.

The company has invested Rs 10 crore for this business expansion.

Russian Spirits is being manufactured at its  Ukraine plant with a monthly capacity of 30 million bottles.

The company has posted $250 million revenues from vodka business.
