Samsung, the world's largest smartphone maker, on Monday launched its Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge devices which will be available in retail market starting April 10 (pre-booking).
Targeting the premium consumers, Samsung has priced Galaxy S6 starting at Rs 49,900 and S6 Edge starting at Rs 58,900.
Samsung's Indian R&D centers have contributed to the design and innovation and development of the S6 devices. "India is among the select 20 countries chosen by Samsung for the first phase launch of GALAXY S6 and GALAXY S6 edge, and rightly so given the Indian R&D team's valuable contribution in making these the world's most advanced smartphones," said HC Hong, President and CEO, Samsung India Electronics.
The Galaxy S6 has a 5.1-inch 2K Amoled display, 16 megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front camera, an octacore processor with a 3 GB RAM. Galaxy S6 Edge comes with dual curved screen and has the similar features as that of the S6 but has better battery life. Galaxy S6 is powered by a 2,550mAh battery and S6 Edge has a 2,600mAh battery. Both devices run on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and will be available in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB internal storage variants at different price points. Both the devices support all 4G spectrum bands.
