Sec 144 imposed in whole area of IMT Manesar

The order comes in view of Wednesday's incident at Maruti Suzuki's Manesar plant

Prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC have been imposed in the whole IMT Manesar area in view of Wednesday's incident at Maruti Suzuki's Manesar plant.

Gurgaon District Magistrate P C Meena promulgated Section 144 with immediate effect banning assembly of five or more persons within two km distance from the boundaries of IMT Manesar.

In the orders issued here today, Meena, who is also the Deputy Commissioner, has also prohibited carrying of weapons of offence like fire arms, swords, knives, cycle chains, lathis and other lethal weapons.

Taking out of any type of procession without prior permission of the administration has also been prohibited.

The violators and offenders of this order would be liable to be prosecuted and punished under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code.

The station house officer (SHO) of the area and Police Administration would be responsible for implementation of this order which would remain into force till further notice, an official spokesman said.
