Snapdeal hires ex-Groupon exec Pradeep Desai to lead logistics tech

The IIT Madras Alumnus was earlier with Amazon for over a decade across departments such as logistics, advertising and marketing

E-commerce major Snapdeal said it has appointed Pradeep Desai, who led product and engineering functions for logistics and seller interface at Groupon, to lead its logistics technology initiatives.

Desai was earlier with Amazon for over a decade across departments such as logistics, advertising and marketing, Snapdeal said in a statement. Desai holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from IIT Madras.

"Pradeep will lead a team whose mandate is to implement a range of additional supply chain innovations to our delivery experience. All our initiatives bring us closer to our mission of building India's most reliable and frictionless commerce eco-system," Rajiv Mangla, chief technology officer, Snapdeal, said in a statement.

Snapdeal recently expanded its delivery operations and warehousing by setting up six mega logistics hubs across Delhi-NCR and other places. These facilities will be managed by Vulcan Express, a 100 per cent-owned subsidiary of Snapdeal.
