 "Sun Group COO arrested by crime branch on harassment charges")
Sun Group's COO C Praveen has been arrested by the Chennai Crime Branch team after a harassment complaint was filed against him.
"We have booked him under Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Sexual Harassment of Women Act. He has allegedly been harassing the woman for past two years," a senior Central crime branch official said.
The woman, who quit her job five months ago, held a senior position in the programming section of Surya TV, the Malayalam Channel of Sun Network.
"Both Praveen and the victim hail from Kerala," the official added.
"The victim had furnished evidence including voice and data recordings of conversations," he said, adding that the probe is on.
The company did not respond to Business Standard's query immediately.
Sun TV Network is owned by the Maran brothers--Kalanidhi and Dayanidhi.
