Media firm Sun TV Network today said its net profit has increased 48.40 per cent at Rs 225.49 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2010.
This is against Rs 151.94 registered during the same quarter last fiscal, Sun TV said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Total income increased 50.47 per cent to Rs 607.06 crore for the reported quarter from Rs 403.43 crore for Q3 FY10.
The Board of Directors of the company has recommended an interim dividend of Rs 5 per share at par.
During this quarter, the company released a blockbuster movie simultaneously in three languages titled 'Enthiran' in Tamil and 'Robot' in Telegu and Hindi.
"The company earned revenues of Rs 179 crore, including Rs 15 crore expected towards satellite rights which has not been included in the revenues in this quarter. The company has spend Rs 132 crore crore on the production of this blockbuster," it said.
