Telecom services provider Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Ltd (TTML) today posted a loss of Rs 130.21 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2011.
The company had suffered a loss of Rs 97.90 crore in the July-September quarter last fiscal, TTML said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
However, total income increased to Rs 616.42 crore in the second quarter ended September 30, against Rs 576.29 crore in the same quarter previous fiscal, the company said.
The company had launched 3G services during the last quarter of the previous fiscal. It paid Rs 1,257.82 crore for 3G spectrum in Maharashtra, which was capitalised during the quarter ended June 30, 2010.
The company has amortised the borrowings over a period of 20 years.
The borrowing cost attributable to the aforesaid aggregating Rs 62.82 crore has been capitalised during the previous year, TTML said.
Shares of the company today closed at Rs 17.55 on the BSE, down 0.575 from the previous close.
