The company, which has remained bullish about the economy, has also increased its hiring target for FY14 to 50,000 from 45,000, as the company sees demand improving.
“When we started this financial year, we had stated our hiring target of 45,000 but now we think we will hire 50,000. Of the extra 5,000, we are yet to decide if we want to do off-campus hiring or laterals,” said Ajoy Mukherjee, executive vice-president and global head, human resources (HR). The campus hiring target for FY15 remains the same as FY14. TCS is the only IT services company that is still hiring in large numbers from institutes.
TCS has achieved all of its campus hiring targets for FY14, unlike several other IT companies which have either postponed joining dates or have asked students to join some other business unit. Mukherjee and his team have already started visiting campuses for the FY15 hiring.
