Torrent Pharma to focus on domestic biz

While Samir Mehta is set to replace his elder brother Sudhir Mehta as chairman of city-based Torrent Pharmaceuticals, the company has said the change won't lead to a major shift in its strategy for regulated markets such as the US and European Union.

However, with strong brands from Elder Pharma in its kitty, the company says it will work to build on the foundation in the domestic market to ensure 17-18 per cent growth, especially in the prescription segment.
