Toyota Kirloskar displays its first crossover 'Etios Cross'

The price would cost more than Etios Liva series

Auto major Toyota Kirloskar Motor today unveiled its first crossover, 'New Etios Cross', targetting young customers.
    
Available in 1.5 and 1.2 litre petrol engines and a 1.4 litre diesel engine, the crossover would be launched in May this year but the company has already started taking bookings.
    
The price of the model, which has the design appeal of an SUV, will be revealed in May.

Crossover vehicles are built on a car platform but combines some of features of a sports utility vehicle (SUV).

When asked about the likely price of the new model, TKM Deputy Managing Director, Sandeep Singh said that it would cost more than the existing Etios Liva series.
    
Etios Liva models are available in the range of Rs 4.23-Rs 7.12 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
    
The new model, available in eight colours, will expand the car maker's Etios series with existing models-the Etios, the Liva and the Liva 1.5 TRD Sportivo.
    
The crossover is launched targetting consumers in the age segment of 25-35 years, Singh said at the 12th Auto Expo here.

The model is targetting a whole new breed of audience who seek uniqueness and individuality in everything they do, Toyota Motor Company Chief Engineer Akio Nishimura said.
