Twitter has rolled out a new feature allowing users across the world to add polls to their posts. The San Francisco-based microblogging company earlier offered a few ways to participate in polls — such as tweeting questions, tracking replies, tallying favourites, retweets and hashtag votes. The new feature will allow users to weigh in on all the topics they care about.

You could take public’s opinion on anything — what to name your dog, who will win a game, which election issue people care most about. Users can vote on any poll and how they voted is not shared publicly.

Users could post their “yes or no” scenarios by creating the quick two-choice poll, which would stay active for 24 hours, from the ‘compose box’. The feature will provide poll creators with a new way to engage with their audience and understand exactly what people think. For the participants, it will provide a way to make their voices heard.

While a few users in India, including Amitabh Bachchan (@SrBachchan) and All India Bakchod (@AllIndiaBakchod), were quick to use the new feature, it will be made available to all users in a few days.
