Vivimed Labs appoints woman director

The move was in accordance with rules stipulated by Sebi on the presence of women among a company's board of directors

Hyderabad-based Vivimed Labs Limited today informed the stock exchanges that it has appointed Umanath Varahabhotla as an additional director of the company.

This was in accordance with the orders issued earlier this month by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) for the appointment of women directors on the board of listed companies.

Sebi asked all the listed companies to appoint at least one woman director on the board by the end of this month, failing which they would face regulatory action.
