At the plant, some of the major facilities installed include a new seven-metre coke oven battery, two sinter machines, a 4,000-cubic-metre blast furnace, three 150-tonne basic oxygen furnace converters, two six-strand billet casters & one four-strand beam blank/bloom caster, universal section mill, wire rod and a bar mill. The new coke oven battery has begun trial operation and is supporting sister steel plants, said SAIL.
