Wipro appoints Puneet Chandra as chief marketing officer

Chandra will be replacing Suchira Iyer, who decided to quit the company

Bangalore-based Wipro Ltd on Wednesday appointed Puneet Chandra as the Chief Marketing Officer, of its IT Business.  Chandra will report to Shaji Farooq, Senior Vice-President, advanced technologies, global alliances and go-to-market transformation, Wipro Technologies.

Chandra will be replacing Suchira Iyer, who decided to quit the company.  

Shaji Farooq Senior Vice-President, advanced technologies, global alliances and go-to-market transformation, Wipro Technologies said, “Puneet has an excellent track record of building and scaling businesses. His multi-disciplinary experience in global markets and cross-sectoral industry knowledge will play a crucial role in defining our marketing strategy, in line with the transformation agenda for our customers.”

Puneet, a chartered accountant by qualification, was the vice-president, corporate business services, Wipro BPO, and was instrumental in setting up the back office business unit encompassing finance, HR and procurement and order management processes, the company said in a release.

He was also responsible for expanding the company's global delivery capability and spearheaded efforts to set-up centres in Brazil, Mexico, US, Poland, Romania and China, it added.
