Yahoo! India MD Arun Tadanki resigns

Will remain with Yahoo until June-2013, play an active role to support the company during the transition period

Arun Tadanki, Managing Director, India & Southeast Asia, announced his decision to leave Yahoo!. Tadanki will remain with Yahoo until June-2013 and will play an active role to support the company during the transition period.

Tadanki joined Yahoo! India as managing director in May 2009. In December 2011, he was elevated to take on additional responsibility to lead Yahoo! Southeast Asia region covering Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam.

Commenting on his decision, Tadanki said, "I truly enjoyed my stay at Yahoo! and I wish Yahoo! the very best in future. Having worked for 11 years in CEO roles for APAC/ Emerging Markets regions at multinational Internet companies, I am looking forward to playing a very different role within the Internet ecosystem, beyond our region.”

A Yahoo! spokesperson said, “Under Arun’s leadership, Yahoo! India has seen impressive growth both in terms of users & advertising, outpacing the market.

During the last three years, he also secured strong partnerships that drove six-fold growth of Yahoo! mobile users in India.

He led the formation of editorial operation, delivering 15-fold traffic growth of Yahoo! India content properties and establishing Yahoo! India as a leading destination for content, said the company press statement.

“We want to thank Arun for his leadership in driving the growth of Yahoo! India over the last 3 years and for successfully integrating India and Southeast Asia regions during 2012.  We wish him the very best in his future,” said the official statement from the company.
