Daimler India makes changes in senior level management
The changes are in the light of progress of its Asian Business Model, said the company officials

According to a company announcement, Satyakam Arya, currently Vice-President, Procurement at DICV, will move to Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), Japan as Vice-President, Procurement, Daimler Trucks Asia. In this position, he will also assume the role as the Global Commodity Head of Mechatronics for Daimler Trucks, with effect from September 1, 2014.
Yasuhiko Kondo, who has been the General Manager, Life Cycle Management and Governance & Operations Management Procurement, MFTBC will take over the role of Vice-President, Procurement at DICV.
Following on elevation of Erich Nesselhauf as Managing Director & CEO of DICV, Mathew Oommen, who was hitherto Assistant Vice-President, Product Engineering will take-over as Vice-President- Supply Chain Management, DICV effective August 1, 2014.
The Asian Business Model, introduced by Daimler Trucks last year by combining the core strengths of MFTBC and DICV under the umbrella of Daimler Trucks Asia (DTA), has been witnessing growth both at the operational and functional level. Following the first wave integration of R&D & Life Cycle Management functions, the organisation is expanding the scope of integration in Procurement and Supply Chain Management & Logistics, said the company
Arya, who has been overseeing various rollout projects, and addressed the need of DICV's business plan requirements also helped setting up a new supplier base for DICV in India catering not only to local requirements but also for Asia and global requirements. Kondo has served in the area of Life Cycle Management and Procurement since 2005 at MFTBC, Japan. Oommen has been focusing on the product engineering and full vehicle integration and made substantial contribution to DICV's focus on creating trucks for India, said the company.
