Amendment bills for two labour acts may be placed in Parliament soon and the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act-1986 which has already been tabled in Rajya Sabha may be passed during the upcoming monsoon session, Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya today said.

The Labour minister said amendments to Maternity Benefit Act and Workmen Compensation Act are likely to go to cabinet for approval and subsequent placement before Parliament for passage.

"I expect the two Amendment Bills may be placed before the Cabinet for approval. Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act-1986 is already in Rajya Sabha. I hope that it would be passed during the monsoon session," Dattratreya told reporters in a press conference.

Speaking about his recent trip to China where he participated in G-20 Labour Ministers' conference, the minister said all the participating countries appreciated the initiative taken by the Indian government on skill development and employment generation.

Replying to a query, he said the central government has so far sanctioned Rs 587 crore to Telangana as suggested by the 14th Finance Commission.

He also said a team of senior officials from the Ministry of Commerce will soon visit Telangana to examine the proposal of setting up two parks for Turmeric and Chilies and development of Textiles at Gadwal and Pochampalli regions in the state.
