Over 1 lakh camps will be set up across the country on June 21 for the yoga sessions

Narendra Modi’s vision to create a Guinness World Record on International Yoga day has enthused the population across the country.On June 21 around 45,000 people is expected to join Narendra Modi in a yoga class conducted by Baba Ramdev at Rajpath, New Delhi. All set to break the world record for organising the largest Yoga class ever.

A glimpse of the grand planning for yoga day, was apparent in the rehearsals held at the JLN Stadium on June 14.Spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is expected to accompany  Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj for a session to be held in New York.

According to ANI , over one lakh camps will be set up across the country on June 21 for the yoga sessions wherein around 100 million people are expected to take part.

Narendra Modi’s success in convincing the United Nations to call June 21, International Yoga Day has helped to give this old practice visibility in international forums. Modi had in his speech at the United General Assembly in September last year called for acknowledging such a day.



The capital on June 21 can expect a lot of crowd and chaotic excitement as sessions are planned all over Delhi for International Yoga Day. The department of personnel & training (DoPT) has prepared a list of central government employees who will be joining the Yoga celebrations as well.

More than 250 cities across six continents in the world will perform Yoga to mark the first International Yoga Day, with Modi leading the nation. Indians across 650 districts and 192 out of 193 countries of the globe will take part in Yoga events being planned to celebrate the Day, with Yemen being the only exception because of war situation.

The primary events planned for Yoga day are:

New Delhi: Rajpath: Around 45,000 people expected to join Narendra Modi and Baba Ramdev

Mumbai: Hiranandani Gardens, Powai: Shammi’s Yogalaya have planneda  12-hour Powai Yoga Fest with yoga sessions, talks, dance and music performances.

Bengaluru: Yoga schools and instructors will conduct a session at  UB City Amphitheatre

Chennai:  Wellness centre Isha Foundation’s founder Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev will lead a yoga session at the YMCA Grounds

Kolkata: Deshapriya Park and Bada Park at Kankurgachi: The iLead Institute of Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Development has partnered with The Art of Living Foundation for a Yogathon

Pune: Artsphere, Kalyani Nagar: Total Yoga and Isha Foundation have joined hands for this event.

Hyderabad: Aalankrita Resorts, Shameerpet Mandal: The Anahata Yoga Zone will conduct a session at a resort on the outskirts of the city.
