CESS launches MPhil, PhD programmes for 2014-15

Centre has so far admitted 27 MPhil batches and 24 PhD batches

The Centre for Economic and Social Studies (CESS), Hyderabad, today announced its MPhil and PhD programmes for the 2014-15 academic year, in accordance with the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission in June 2009.

"The new MPhil and PhD programmes will be offered in six disciplines - commerce, development statistics, economics, geography, political science and public administration and sociology. These programmes are targeted at working teachers as well as freshers," S Galab, director of CESS, told mediapersons.

The CESS, which had started its first MPhil programme in 1986 and PhD programme in 1990, has so far admitted 27 MPhil batches and 24 PhD batches. Thus far, 100 scholars had been awarded MPhil and PhD degrees, he added.
