Chhattisgarh govt has ordered suspension of sale of meat during eight-day fasting period and the 'Ganesh Chaturthi' festival

Amid the row over a meat sale ban in Mumbai and some parts of Maharashtra and Rajasthan during the Paryushan festival of the Jain community, the Chhattisgarh government has also ordered suspension of sale of meat during the eight-day fasting period and the 'Ganesh Chaturthi' festival.

A Raipur Municipal Corporation official said all zone, health officers and police stations had been instructed to take necessary steps in this direction.
