Most ATMs, including those of ICICI Bank, Canara Bank and Corporation Bank have not become operational here.
After the government demonetised Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes on Tuesday night, it was announced that people can withdraw the new series of Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 notes from the ATMs starting Thursday midnight but most of them were still not functioning.
An IANS correspondent visited various Bank ATMs in the area on Friday and found that most of them were not operational. The State Bank of India (SBI) Bank ATM was the only machine functioning.
Bank guards said that cash has not arrived.
"There is no cash in the machine. What we have heard from the authorities is that it will arrive only after noon," ICICI Bank guard Rajesh Kumar told IANS.
Punjab National Bank ATM machines were switched off and shutters of Canara Bank ATMs are still down.
