Smelling corruption in the conduct of Narendra Modi led government in Gujarat, senior Congress leader Shankarsinh Vaghela on Monday claimed that the state government was misleading the people by stating incorrect figures on development, growth rate and price rise.
Speaking on the budgetary provisions made for 2013-14 by the BJP government in the state assembly, Vaghela who is also leader of the opposition, said that the proposed budget had number of things which have been repeated year after year.
Giving example, he pointed at allocations made for the metro rail project, setting up a 'Statue of Unity' at the Sardar Sarovar Dam, building irrigation canal network for Narmada dam, Kalpasar project, new electric connections to farmers, r0-ro ferry service between Bhavnagar and Dahej, Ram-hanuman circuit for tourism development and others.
Vaghela claimed that these all projects or schemes were mentioned in previous budgets of the same government. Government's claim was mere eyewash, he alleged.
