Gujarat election 2017: Full list of Congress candidates for Phase 2

In the second phase of polling, seats from where the Congress is not contesting are Morva Hadav, Vadgam and Vaghodia

Countdown to the second and final phase of voting for the Gujarat Assembly election 2017 has begun. From 8 am to 5 pm on Thursday, polling will be conducted on 93 of the state's 182  seats. Among some of the key constituencies in the second phase are Anand, Sidhpur, Maninagar, Porbandar, Ellisbridge, Radhanpur and many others.

Of the total of 1,815 candidates trying their luck in the Guajarat Assembly election, 851 contestants are in the fray for the second phase. The Congress has fielded 90 candidates for the 93 seats that are going to the polls. Overall, the party has fielded 176 candidates in both phases of the polls. This time, the Congress is contesting the polls in alliance with leaders like Jignesh Mevani, Alpesh Thakor and Hardik Patel. 

The Phase-2 seats where the Congress is not contesting are Morva Hadav, Vadgam and Vaghodia. The party has kept the reserved seat of Morva Hadaf and Vaghodia constituencies for the Bhartiya Tribal Party. In the Vadgam constituency, the Congress has given its support to dalit leader Jignesh Mevani, who is contesting as an independent candidate.
