Delhi high court on Wednesday tossed out a plea by Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, that sought financial details of Union finance minister Arun Jaitley and his family.

Arun Jaitley has filed a Rs 10-crore defamation case against Aam Aadmi Party chief Kejriwal and five other AAP leaders for accusing him of financial irregularities in the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA), a body that Jaitley headed for 13 years till 2013.

Denying Kejriwal’s plea, Delhi high court dismissed the application, calling it a fishing or roving enquiry without any merit. But the court did allow a separate application seeking annual reports and account statements of the DDCA for 13 years till 2013.

Jaitley has also filed criminal charges against Kejriwal and other AAP leaders.
