Facing flak from the opposition for trying to evade questioning by the CBI in the multi-crore Saradha ponzi scam, state transport minister Madan Mitra today said he will face CBI questioning within the next few days.

"I am sick but within the next few days I will face the CBI for questioning as they have summoned me," Mitra told PTI.

The minister, however, reiterated that he was in no way involved in the scam.

"I am in no way involved in the Saradha scam," Mitra said when asked about allegations levelled by the opposition that he took benefits from Saradha group chairman Sudipto Sen.

Mitra was admitted to state-run SSKM hospital last week after a brief stay at a private clinic in the city complaining of breathlessness.

Mitra today also denied reports of his son being involved with a particular chit fund company and said if reports of his son or any of his family member taking any benefit from a chit fund company was proved, he would tender his resignation as a minister.

Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Srinjoy Bose was arrested on Friday by CBI after a marathon interrogation for five hours for his alleged involvement in the Saradha ponzi scam.
