Women have progressed in Gujarat, I have no role to play in it, says the Chief Minister

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said women empowerment was must to make India a developed nation. 

 

Addressing the annual general meeting of women wing of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci) in the national capital, Modi said dignity of women is a step towards nation building.

 

The Gujarat CM said the women have excelled whenever given an opportunity. 

Modi went on to say that the global acclaim that Amul enjoys is in part due to the ground-level work that women do to make the brand a success.

The Gujarat CM will speak on the topic Unleash the entrepreneur within; exploring new avenues in the national capital. He will address the ladies' wing of the industry body.

 

According to media reports, the industry body has changed the venue of Modi's address in order to accommodate more audience. The programme was earlier arranged at the Ficci auditorium where the seating capacity is only 200-300. But after pressure from different women organisations, Ficci changed the venue to Le Meridien Hotel to accommodate a larger audience.
