DMK chief M Karunanidhi today left for New Delhi to meet his daughter M Kanimozhi, who is lodged in Tihar jail in connection with the 2G spectrum scam case.
Karunanidhi was accompanied by senior DMK leader Duraimurugan, airport sources said.
The DMK patriarch, who has been sulking over the arrest of Kanimozhi, had said yesterday he may not meet UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi -- a practice he has followed whenever in Delhi ever since DMK aligned with Congress in 2004.
Karunanidhi's wife Rajathi Ammal had met Kanimozhi, at the court on Saturday.
Airport sources said Union Minister of Textiles Dayanidhi Maran also left for New Delhi in a separate flight today.
Karunanidhi's son and Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilisers MK Alagiri is already in New Delhi.
